Expected Topics of Discussion and Presented Technologies
Our 2005 Transition and Inclustion Camp technology piece is a series of interactions with campers scheduled to run for the duration of the camp. At one hour long intervals, they will begin with a cursory introduction to the types of technology we employ and the concerns about equal access to information that dictate our work here at SIUC-DSS. The workshops then become more individualized with student evaluations and interactions with appropriate technologies. Goals for these presentations are as follows:
- Make the students aware of various adaptive technologies that are commonly attached to the disabilities
- Expose participants to the practices we here at SIUC-DSS employ to help enable students with disabilities in their daily lives
- Perform individual evaluations for each camper
- Identify appropriate technologies and allow students to interact with them
