The 2007 Transition & Inclusion Camp
The 2007 camp was held at SIUC from June 18 - June 22, 2007. Camp participants were able to choose from a variety of training sessions as well as recreational and social opportunities. The following photo selection is a "week in review" of the 2007 camp experience:
Luckily, it was a beautiful summer day as camp staff checked participants in at Thompson Point residence hall.

The
first day was primarily spent getting to know each other and becoming familiar
with the campus. The Admissions Office started the week off with a "How to
apply to a University" session followed by trolley-ride tours of campus. The
rest of the afternoon was spent at the Campus Boat Dock with recreational
activities, a BBQ, and other icebreakers.

DSS staff offered a presentation on the types of academic support services offered by colleges and universities and what students have to do to receive support.

An overview of adapted computer technologies was given, specifically brain-actuated and eye-gaze controlled software, and time was spent working in the DSS Computer Lab.

"Career Development: A Practical Approach" was a presentation offered by Pam Folger, Director of the Career and Experiential Education Center at Millikin University. This session was especially well received in 2006 so it was brought back for a repeat session in 2007.
As always, recreational/social events were the most popular for students and staff alike.

Evenings were fun at the Lentz Hall Lounge.

Time to say good-bye.
